How to install MRST PRO on Windows

This guide walks you through a clean installation of MRST PRO on a Windows PC.

What you need

• A Windows PC with administrator rights
• WinRAR or 7-Zip to extract the installer
• Your MRST activation details (from your reseller)
• A good-quality USB data cable

Step 1 — Download the installer

1. Open the Downloads page.
2. Download the latest release installer (for example setup_mrst_pro_v1.4.1).
3. If the archive is password-protected, the password is shown in the file name.

Step 2 — Extract the archive

1. Right-click the downloaded archive and choose Extract here (WinRAR or 7-Zip).
2. Wait until extraction finishes completely. Do not run the installer from inside the archive.

Step 3 — Run the installer as administrator

1. Right-click mrst.exe and choose Run as administrator.
2. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
3. If Windows Defender or your antivirus blocks the file, add an exception for the MRST folder and run it again.

Step 4 — Install USB drivers

Install the USB drivers for the chipset of the phone you will service before connecting it. Driver packages are listed under Drivers and utilities on the Downloads page.

Step 5 — Launch MRST and sign in

1. Open MRST from the desktop shortcut.
2. Sign in with the account details you received with your activation.
3. If you do not have sign-in details, contact your reseller or MRST support.

Step 6 — Connect the phone and run a function

1. Check that the model is listed in the Supported models directory.
2. Connect the phone in the mode the function requires.
3. Select the function and follow the instructions in the tool.
4. When the job is complete, the phone restarts.
